The manager of a Roscommon business has described the vandalism of a pride flag outside their premises as a 'hate crime'.
On Wednesday evening, a pride flag outside Triest Press in Roscommon Town was taken down, defaced with offensive slurs, and re-flown.
Noel Strange is the manager of the local company.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show, he says that the vandals' use of stencils shows this was a well planned out attack rather than a random act.
''The flag has been flying all along, it's quite stark and we had lovely blue skies and so it was in stark relief to the sky you couldn't miss it, that obviously offended someone. They decided we're not having that, they pre-planned it because when you look at it, they used stencils, it wasn't juts someone passing by on a whim, it was basically a hate crime.''
