A number of vehicles and sums of cash are understood to have been seized as part of garda raids at properties in Longford today.
Local officers, assisted by several members of the Criminal Assets Bureau carried out searches at multiple addresses in the county from 7am this morning.
The searches of more than half a dozen properties, both within Longford town and at other addresses across the county, began just after 7am this morning.
CAB officers, supported by Gardai from across Longford, attended a number of properties in the Longford town area, as well as across the county.
It's understood that number of high-value vehicles have been seized as well as sums of cash and other goods.
Shannonside FM understands the searches are linked to ongoing investigations into organised crime as well as the sale and supply of drugs.
It's unclear if any arrests have been made with searches ongoing this lunchtime and the raids come ahead of a planned meeting of the County's Joint Policing Committee this afternoon.
