A cavalcade of vintage tractors will arrive in Longford this evening as part of a major fundraising effort.
The 22 Extreme Tractor drivers left London on Sunday last and will travel 833 Kilometres to Cong in Co. Mayo to raise money for the Cancer Fund for Children.
It's hoped the funds gathered from this challenge will help build the Republic of Ireland's first cancer centre for young people.
The tractors will arrive in Longford at 4:30pm stopping over until their departure tomorrow morning at 9am when they will travel towards Mayo via the N5.
One of the organisers and participants John Corley is thankful for the 55,000 euro raised to date and he hopes people will come out to the Longford Vintage Club this evening to meet them.
