Public consultation over the five possible routes for the Athlone to Galway Cycleway has been opened to the public today.
The potential corridors which originate in Athlone will be on display virtually due to public health restrictions and the ongoing lockdown.
The Athlone to Galway Cycle Way is the final leg of the Dublin to Galway Greenway which will see an unbroken cycle and pedestrian route from the capital to the west of Ireland.
The project is being delivered by the Galway, Roscommon and Westmeath local authorities in partnership with TII and the Department of Transport.
The five routes are accessible in a virtual display room available through www. Athlone to Galway Cycleway .com until March 1st.
The routes travel through Roscommon and into East Galway, with three in close proximity to Ballinasloe town.
