Visiting times at Sligo hospital are being eased from today.
Visitors will no longer need to make an appointment and visiting hours will be between 6 and 8 o' clock in the evening.
The restrictions had bene put in place at the end of February due to Covid outbreaks in the hospitals and the high rate of community transmission.
The statement from the Saolta group today says that visits outside 6 to 8 o' clock can be facilitated for End of Life care, or on compassionate grounds via prior arrangement with the ward manager.
All visitors will be required to wear a surgical mask and perform good hand hygiene regularly during their visit.
Management at the hospital is thanking the public for their support during the past weeks..
