Drumshanbo in Leitrim is currently reporting one of the highest voter turnout levels in the country so far today. 39 percent of the electorate have cast their vote so far in the town today, with polling ongoing until 10pm. That's followed closely by Rural Longford, where county polling stations are reporting 33 percent of registered voters have taken part in the European and Local Elections.
North Leitrim is seeing the next highest figures, with Kinlough and Dromahair recording voting levels at 30 percent and 27 percent respectively. Close to a third of the electorate in Castlerea have turned out with 28 percent voting there so far followed by 26 percent in Athlone and 25 percent in Ballaghaderreen.
Longford and Roscommon Towns are both sitting on approximately 22 percent of a voter turnout so far today. Voter turnout is expected to increase into the evening as people finish work.
