The World Health Organisation has expressed its concern at the rising number of global Covid related deaths .
In the past eight weeks, more than 170 thousand people have died of COVID-19.
The WHO says the actual number of deaths could be much higher as its figures only relate to reported deaths.
WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus says health systems around the world are once again coming under strain:
I remain very concerned by the situation in many countries and the rising number of deaths
While we are clearly in better shape than three years ago when this pandemic first hit.
The Global pandemic response is clearly under strain.
