Members of the public are being urged to be especially careful regarding bog fires this week.
The dry weather and the lack of new grass growth so far produces perfect conditions at this time of year for any fire to spread extremely fast across a bog or through forestry.
Land and property owners are reminding people that it is an offence to cut, grub, burn, or otherwise destroy any vegetation on uncultivated land between the 1st of March and the 31st of August,
Leitrim Chief Fire Officer Finian Joyce says they've had a few small incidents across the last week and he's urging people to report a fire quickly to the emergency services.
