History was made in Carrick-on-Shannon earlier this week after a record price was secured for an animal at the annual winter fair.
The two-day commercial pedigree sale saw a record price paid for for a Limousin heifer - crossed with a Belgian Blue.
Sean Ramsbottom from Timahoe in County Laois and his son Jack secured a price of €18,000 for the animal- a record for the Carrick-on-Shannon event.
Lourda McGowan is the secretary of the Carrick winter fair.
