The head of a number of hospitals in the region is appealing to the public to keep the local health services free for those who may need them most.
Tony Canavan, who leads the group responsible for the management of Portiuncula, Roscommon and Sligo University Hospitals, is asking people to heed all public health advice.
The Saolta CEO says there is growing concern over the rise in Covid cases in the west, including in Galway and Roscommon.
He is asking everyone to reduce their contacts, maintain good hand hygiene and wear face coverings where possible.
