A weather warning is in place for Leitrim until 2 o'clock this afternoon.
The status yellow wind and rain warning covers Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
Alan O'Reilly, from Carlow Weather, says the heavy rainfall may cause some spot flooding.
