The campus of the former St Aloysius College at Deerpark in Athlone is being advertised for sale.
The property includes Lyster House, a Georgian period building originally constructed in 1820 and modernised in 2007.
There's also an extensive school building and a sports hall, with the entire property covering almost 4000 sq metres.
The site overall is just under 6 acres and is just off Connaught Street in Athlone town.
The campus served as a school from the 1960's up until the merger with St Josephs in Summerhill in 2017 which led to the new Colaiste Chiarain being formed at Summerhill.
Local auctioneer Ollie Moore from Property Partners Moore Larkin who are joint selling agents for the lot says the campus is partially rented to a language school at present and he could see a future potential education and training use for the site:
