A well-known Longford solicitor is to be appointed a judge as part of a raft of new judicial appointments being made by Government.
Patricia Cronin, who works with John J Quinn's in Longford town, is expected to be appointed as a District Court judge.
Former Longford County Councillor and solicitor Judge Alan Mitchell has also been appointed to a new role in the legal system.
He is to take up a role in the Special criminal court, having served as District Court judge for the last number of years.
The appointments were approved by the Government this week after being proposed at Cabinet by Justice Minister Heather Humphreys.
