Westmeath County Council has spent just €82,600 on advertising over the course of the pandemic.
According to figures released to Shannonside FM under the Freedom of Information Act, the local Authority has spent the least on radio, newspaper and digital adverts out of any council in the Shannonside region.
Westmeath County Council spent over 82 and a half thousand euro between 2020 and June of this year.
The same period saw Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon councils spend between 2 and 5 times the amount in advertising.
Following the same trend as the other local councils, Westmeath CoCo spent the majority of its ads budget on newspapers as councils are required by law to advertise certain issues.
Radio saw the next highest spend, with €11,662 spent in the two and a half years.
Digital and Social Media saw spending rates growing year on year as councils embraced more online strategies as a result of the various covid-19 lockdowns.
All in all, Westmeath County Council spent just over a fifth of the amount paid out by Roscommon county Council, while Longford and Leitrim saw between double and triple the amount spent between 2020 and 2022.
