A Longford/Westmeath TD has called for tax relief to go further than in the previous two budgets.
It's understood a tax break may be on the cards for middle income earners in the Budget this October.Fine Gael is said to be pushing the proposal before Coalition talks begin.Minister Peter Burke, says there's increased capacity to invest more in tax relief.
'Number one we ensure families get a significant tax rebate, in the tax bands, and secondly, which is very important, that public services are improved , like childcare, and made more affordable , and housing for all citizens right across the economy.'
