The Chairman of the No to Derryadd Wind Farm group says the Bord Na Mona Community Engagement Sessions starting tomorrow evening will not change anything.
Niall Dennigan was speaking ahead of four evening information events being hosted by Bord Na Mona in the local community over the next several days as they prepare to resubmit planning permission for a wind farm.
Bord Pleanala gave permission for the 24 turbine development in June of 2020 but opposition from the local community saw that overturned last summer on a point of planning law.
Speaking on Let's Talk today, Niall Dennigan says the group is prepared to talk about some kind of solar power project but they remain firmly opposed to any kind of wind turbine scheme.
''We are willing and wanting to meet with Bord na Mona to reach an amicable solution to this be it full implementation of the Wilderness Park or be it for the implementation of the wilderness park along with compatible renewable energy. At the minute that looks like solar, after what we went through for last couple of years and all the evidence that was put forward and everything that was detailed. It's just not compatible. As I said before, the people in the communities made it very well known a few years ago, when it came to the initial application what they thought about it.''
