The grant of planning permission for a controversial wind turbine in Longford have been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
The plans which have generated anger among local residents, were submitted by Natural Forces Renewable Energy Ltd for a site at Lissanore near Edgeworthstown.
The applicant has been approved to construct a wind energy converter on a tower with a blade tip height of close to 150 metres.
Submissions made to Longford County Council highlighted concerns such as shadow flicker, noise, property devaluation and the effect the development may have on the local bird population.
Deirdre Clinton is one of those behind the appeal of planning permission.
Speaking on Let's Talk today, she says the views of the local community have been completely ignored.
'I think on a scale, people just cant get to grips with how big this thing really is.
It's just massive.
Visually it's going to be there, you'll see it for 20 kilometres.
To think of the people, to acknowledge that we actually made an objection , we saw no acknowledgement that people have made an objection , we seem to have been forgotten about , but to people who are in this current situation, don't give up, keep trying, find an expert, and you can get it sorted out.'
