A woman in her 40s has been arrested following an incident in Longford town centre this morning.
The female was detained following an altercation that occurred on Dublin Street just after 11am.
She is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Longford Garda station.

Gardai have confirmed that another woman in her 20s sustained minor injuries in the incident but did not require hospital treatment and today's altercation is not in any way linked to recent violent incidents in the Longford town area.
Investigations are ongoing.
