Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a crash which claimed the life of a woman in her 70s on a stretch of the N62 between Athlone and Ferbane
It happened shortly after half eight yesterday morning on the N62 at Doon Cross.
The woman - who was driving a car which collided with a lorry - was pronounced dead at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.#

No other injuries have been reported.
The road was closed for a technical examination last night and anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the incident is being asked to come forward.
