A woman stabbed during an assault in Dublin city centre two weeks ago has died.
Gardai have confirmed the woman who has been in a serious condition since the attack near the IFSC was pronounced dead at the Mater Hospital today.
The woman in her 40s was attacked between Georges Dock and Custom House Quay, near the IFSC while walking home from work on January 20th at around 9.30pm.
She was taken to the Mater Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery and has been in a serious condition since then.
Gardai say she was pronounced dead at the hospital today.
A post mortem examination is due to take place which will determine the course of the investigation.
A teenager charged in connection with the attack is due back in court later this month.
