Women look set to top the polls in two of the local electoral areas in Roscommon according to the final tallies from the Hyde Centre.
The tally in Athlone shows Ballyforan-based Emer Kelly topping the poll with 1,948 votes.
The Independent councillor was co-opted onto the council three-years-ago in place of former Cathaoirleach Ivan Connaughton.
Fellow Independent councillor Tony Ward will retain his seat with 1,787 first preference votes according to the tally. Whereas, Fine Gael's John Naughten (1,737), Independent Laurence Fallon (1,203) and outgoing Cathaoirleach John Keogh (933) also look set to retain their seats.
The sixth and final seat will be a shootout between Sinn Féin's Sam Brooks (512); Fianna Fáil's James Murray (550) and Independent Domnick Connolly (481). Indeed, transfers are the name of the game there.
Meanwhile, Independent councillor Valerie Byrne looks set to top the Boyle LEA poll with tallies showing 1,574 first preference votes. Sinn Féin's Leah Cull, a first-time candidate is second there with 1,410 votes according to those final tallies.
She's followed by Independent candidate Micheál Frain (1,357), Fianna Fáil candidate Sean Moylan (1,274), and Independent councillor Tom Crosby (1,057).
Whereas, the final seat is expected to be between Fine Gael councillor Liam Callaghan (738) and the party's other candidate Dympna Daly Finn (889). Paul Forde's transfers are expected to have a big say there (832).
Roscommon LEA is rather moreclear cut. Paschal Fitzmaurice expected to top the poll with 1,845 votes with fellow Fianna Fáil councillor Marty McDermott second with 1,618.
Independent councillor Anthony Waldron (1,399), Independent Ireland's Nigel Dineen (1,318), Fianna Fáil's Larry Brennan (1,191) and Fine Gael candidate Gareth Scahill (1,173) look set to make up the remainder of the Roscommon contingent.
