An inaugural woodland festival is taking place in Castlerea today.
The event which is called ''Come see the Wood from the Trees'' is organised by the Western Forestry Co-op and supported by the Department of Agriculture alongside Maosnite Ireland.
The one day festival is taking place between 12 noon and 6pm on the grounds of Clonalis House Estate.

It's hoped the event will foster a greater awareness of the benefits of trees and woodlands.
The day will include live woodland demonstrations, beekeeping and hurley making as well as a variety of walks & talks.
