Contracts have been signed to carry out the next phase of the Longford Connected project in Longford town.
The project is funded under the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund and is made up of different works to help improve the connectivity of different areas around the town.
It involves the installation of new footpaths, new lighting and signage, as well as new street furniture and landscaping.
The first phase of the project involved works in the Tesco car park area in 2019, and the second involved the new footpath and wall along St Mel's Road.
The latest works which will start early next year will focus on creating a better connection between the Grafton Court and Market Square areas.
Councillor Remu Adejinmi who's Mayor of the Longford MD says some people have been frustrated about the slow pace of some of the regeneration projects in the town and she hopes they'll be glad to hear some progress.
