Work on a temporary flood relief scheme at Lough Funshinagh will commence in the coming weeks. The news was confirmed by Minister for the OPW Kieran O'Donnell during a visit to Roscommon this morning. A temporary pipe to remove excess water from the beleaguered turlough is expected to be in place by the end of March. The Minister also confirmed that work to secure a permanent solution will continue in tandem with the aim of installing an underground pipe by March 2027.
