Works to install an overflow pipe at Lough Funshinagh will not commence until next year at the earliest. Minister for the OPW Kieran O'Donnell confirmed the news to local residents during a visit to South Roscommon this afternoon.
Local Councillor Laurence Fallon said the news was a devastating blow to Local residents who had retained hope of a solution this summer. Speaking to Shannonside News, he said there were now growing fears for a number of homes in the vicinity of the turlough:
