The man in his 20s who died after a crash in east Galway has been named as Simon Quinn, from Liss, Abbeyknockmoy.
He was the driver of a car that was involved in a single-vehicle collision at Ballintava, Dunmore, last Friday at around 2.30am.
He was rushed to University Hospital Galway (UHG) with serious injuries and died yesterday.
A passenger in the car, also a man in his 20s, was taken to UHG with non-life-threatening injuries, but has since been released.
Several tributes and expressions of condolences have been paid online following Simon's death.
He will repose at his family home in Liss, Abbeyknockmoy, on Wednesday from 5pm until 8pm.
His removal will take place from his home on Thursday morning for funeral Mass at St Bernard’s Church, Abbeyknockmoy at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Abbeyknockmoy Cemetery.
