The Athlone and Midlands Samaritans Branch is looking for volunteers
The service based in Athlone celebrated its 30th anniversary last year.
One of the first Athlone volunteers, Anne McGrath says it doesn't require any particular set of skills and people will be fully trained for a number of weeks before they answer their first call.

Anne believes her work with the Samaritans has helped in other parts of her life, and she encourages anyone interested to get in contact.
She spoke to the Let's Talk show about the work the Samaritans do.
