A leading medical expert for the northwest has expressed his concern at people not adhering to Covid rules following an outbreak of the virus in the wider Drumshanbo area in the last week.
Gardai are investigating several people's attendance at an outdoor prayer meeting held in the town last Sunday, while all Sixth-Year students in the Drumshanbo Vocational School are to be Covid tested after four Leaving Certs tested positive in recent days.
It's understood that social events in the last number of days, including a funeral and wake are being linked to the outbreak, with HSE officials urging anyone who believes they have Covid symptoms to self-isolate and to contract their GP.
12 cases of covid were reported on Monday of this week in Leitrim, but none on Tuesday.
