Justice Minister Helen McEntee says she's committed to seeing that domestic violence refuge spaces are created in the Shannonside/Northern region as soon as possible.
The Minister was speaking during a visit to Longford yesterday where she took time out to go to Longford Women's Link and speak to women there about the issue.
She also met with senior gardai in the county yesterday, as well as listening to the views of young people in Longford about policing in the community.

Anne Norris spoke to the Minister about the concerns of local people and the fact that the garda representative association says there are not enough resources to deal with the increase in violent incidents in recent years.
