People interested in joining An Garda Síochána have one more week to submit an application before the current recruitment drive closes.
A number of changes have been made this year including the raising of the maximum age for applicants from 35 to 50.
The allowance for trainee Gardaí has also been increased from €184 to €305 per week.
Applications can be made through PublicJobs.ie, with the closing date on February 8th.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Longford Community Policing Sergeant Darren Conlon has been urging people to consider the move.
Sergeant Conlon told Daniel Considine that while not it's not an easy job, it is an incredibly rewarding one.
