LISTEN: Athlone cafe receives electricity bill of €10,000

A cafe in the Shannonside region has received an electricity bill of almost 10,000 euro.

Poppy Fields Cafe in Athlone is being charged 9,836.92 for 73 days of supply - from June 8th until August 19th.

Owner Geraldine Dolan told Ronan Gargan that the same period last year cost 34 euro per day and that has now increased to 123 euro.
