A woman with four children, including one with autism, says she has been waiting nine years for a council house in Athlone.
Ana Martins came to Ireland from Portugal 12 years ago and currently lives in Auburn Heights with her partner and children. Her kids are aged between three and 14 and her 11-year-old son has been diagnosed with autism. Westmeath County Council says it is not in a position to respond to individual cases. Ana says she has been waiting for a council house since 2015 and is appealing to the council to take her son's condition into account. She told Eoghan Murphy her story.
