There is a call for €5 million in state funding to improve the appearance of five villages in south Leitrim.
The government is spending millions of euro on public realm improvement works in towns like Mohill and Carrick-on-Shannon. Fianna Fáil councillor Seán McGowan says similar works are needed in five villages in the area - Dromod, Drumsna, Rooskey, Jamestown and Leitrim village. He wants the government to address them in a joint plan, as he told Eoghan Murphy earlier.
