There was an emotional reunion for one family in Roscommon on Tuesday following the safe return of their beloved pet.
Sheppy the Collie was so frightened by recent storms that he travelled 33 kilometres across the Shannonside region.
He fled his home in Corrigeenroe near Boyle last Sunday afternoon and was found in the Tarmon area of Leitrim three days later.

Sheppy, who was microchipped, was then reunited with his family by Leitrim Animal Welfare.
