A Leitrim councillor is raising concerns about the possible introduction of fracking into Ireland.
Independent Councillor Eddie Mitchell says the government has altered its policy on the importation of fracked gas.
At Monday's council meeting, he called on the local authority to write to Energy Minister Eamon Ryan to express its disappointment over the issue.
Councillor Mitchell says the government plans to build a Strategic Gas Reserve in Ireland, in the form of a fracked gas import terminal.
