Long-serving Independent councillor Des Guckian is considering resigning from Leitrim County Council - less than a month after being re-elected.
He is furious with the new coalition in the council, involving Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the other four Independents - James Gilmartin, Eddie Mitchell, Enda Stenson, and Felim Gurn.
Councillor Guckian claims the alliance is undemocratic because the main positions on the council, like cathaoirligh, are confined to coalition members.
He walked out of two council meetings over the issue over the past 10 days and says he may decide to walk away from the council.
He has been speaking to Eoghan Murphy about the new make-up of the council.
