The Minister for the OPW offered flood-affected residents of Lough Funshinagh renewed hope that water levels could be lowered at the turlough as early as this autumn. Minister Kieran O'Donnell met with residents and local public representatives recently to discuss a potential way forward towards a permanent solution.
Geraldine is the Secretary of the Lough Funshinagh Flood Action group and she said residents were hopeful following the Minister's visit to the area. Speaking to Dan Dooner, she did warn however that the work on a temporary solution would have to be completed within the next three months:
