Meán Scoil Mhuire in Longford Town has announced the appointment of a new principal.
The popular secondary school in the town centre was founded in 1861 by the Sisters of Mercy and today educates hundreds of students from across the region.
Siobhán Cullen has been appointed as the incoming principal to replace Aoife Mulrennan following her retirement earlier this year and acting principal Mairéad Lyons who is also retiring.
Ms Cullen, who was educated at University College Dublin, University College Galway and the University of Ulster, has held a number of senior education management roles in Longford, Ballymahon and Elphin.
The Convent's board of management say they are excited for the next chapter of the school under the new principal.
