Members of the public attended a special Open Day at Carrick -on-Shannon Garda station on Saturday.
People got a chance to take a tour at the station, including the cells, and children can also get their fingerprints taken if they want.
The Open Day featured horses and dogs with the Garda Mounted unit and Garda Dog Unit both represented, as well as other specialist branches, and emergency services like the fire brigade.
The day was aimed at providing positive engagement within the community as well as allowing people interested in a career in the force to have a chat with some people on the day.
