The family of a Longford woman who died due to medical misadventure following treatment at Mullingar Hospital, are calling for a full apology from the HSE.

Bryonny Sainsbury passed away in August 2021, days after she was injured by her horse in Longford.

She was originally taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar before her transport to Beaumont hospital in Dublin days later.

Significant failures were identified in her treatment at Mullingar Hospital, with an inquest finding her death a result of medical misadventure.

A report detailing the failures in Bryonny's treatment was released to the family in May following long delays.

The report found a range of examples where treatment, communication and engagement were found to be unsatisfactory.

Bryonny's parents Chris and Alison say while they've had an apology from the Review Team for the delay in providing the report, the HSE themselves have not taken responsibility for their daughters treatment.
