The manager of the Cancer Support Sanctuary in Multyfarnham is encouraging people who are concerned about their cancer diagnosis to contact them for support.
Speaking in the wake of the death of Vicky Phelan today, Bernie McHugh says a lot of people who are on their own cancer journeys, or worried relatives, can find the news especially upsetting.
The LARCC Centre in Westmeath provides psychological and emotional support to people living with cancer in the region,
The services include counselling for patients, or their families, complementary therapies, nurse support and a telephone helpline.
The centre manager says people can find it very helpful to talk to someone outside the family about their fears or concerns, and she's inviting people to pick up the phone and make contact.
She spoke to Anne Norris on today's Let's Talk.
