More women are being encouraged to take part in the political process ahead of this year's local elections.
See Her Elected (SHE) is running two one-day training events aimed at preparing female candidates this June.
See Her Elected, a collaboration between Longford Women's Network and 5050 NorthWest, was set up in 2019 to address the gender balance in county councils.

Mairead O'Shea, Communications Manager with SHE, said the initiative has expanded nationwide in recent years.
