Lough Key Forest park took gold in Best Public park category at the annual All Ireland Community and Council Awards at the weekend.
The development of amenities including playgrounds, a zip line, the Boda Berg challenge, as well as new marinas and woodland and tree top walks has seen visitor numbers increase from 5,000 in 2007 to 150,000 now.
