The magical letters from a Connemarra Pony named Sips, to a young girl undergoing hospital treatment in London have been crafted into a wonderful story for children of all ages.
Sips the Pony lives with Tiernan Dolan in the Kingdom of Crieve in Killoe, County Longford.
Gifted by a kind neighbour of Tiernan's to his niece who was undergoing prolonged hospital stays in Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, Snips' daily adventures became a source of great joy for the young girl.
The adventures of Snips, Dusty and Three the dog among others around Crieve, were brought to life in regular letters sent by Tiernan to his niece.
The popular former St Mel's College Teacher, passionate GOAL Aid worker and man behind the 'Humans of Longford' Facebook page has gathered a collection of the letters and published them in his debut children's book.
Snips the Magical Pony will be launched at 12pm on Saturday the 10th of February at Longford Library by Longford Author John Connell.
Speaking to Daniel Considine, Tiernan described the joy of bringing Snips and the other animals of the Kingdom of Crieve to children across the region.
