Roscommon cyclist has narrow escape with hit and run motorist

A Roscommon cyclist says he's not sure if he can continue taking his bike on the roads after being knocked off by a car this week.

Jono Finan was cycling on the N60 outside Ballyhaunis on Wednesday afternoon when he was 'clipped' by a car travelling behind him, and knocked into the ditch.

The car involved didn't stop at the scene.

The cycling enthusiast says while he wasn't seriously injured it could have been far worse.

Jono told Anne Norris about his ordeal, and his worry at the lack of respect shown to cyclists by motorists.
