Well known broadcaster, writer and historian Aidan O Hara has passed away at the age of 84.
The former RTE presenter, who had lived in Longford over the last 20 years, passed away following a long illness.
Aidan joined RTE in the late 1960s and became a household name through his work presenting radio and television shows across the national broadcaster.
The Longford based author had published several books over the last two decades, the most recent being launched by Longford County Council earlier this year.
Aidan is survived by his wife Joyce, his children, and grandchildren.
Longford County Archivist Martin Morris paid tribute to him today on the Let's Talk show.
