A Roscommon resident is calling for volunteers in a bid to open an exotic animal sanctuary in the county.
Leanne Boyle has relocated from her native Tuam to Ahascragh in order to run the sanctuary in near Roscommon town.
She says her mission to rescue exotic animals began when she took in a rare red macaw called Charlie.

The mother of three says she has taken in a large number of exotic animals in the past year.
