Canadian Stephanie Igoe advocates for women and promotes the heritage of Longford, her home of 32 years.
In 1991, Stephenie Igoe left Canada with her Cavan-born husband to start a family in Longford. A social history enthusiast, she published “The Howes that Built Me” with her family, a book about their individual life stories, and “Women’s Voices,” a collection of stories of women in Longford in the 20th century. She has been very much involved in community work by advocating for women and promoting the history and heritage of Longford. The former Irish Countrywomen Association (ICA) Federation President and former Chairperson of Longford Women’s Link now operates a successful property business.
