Mauritian barrister Joanne Frivet sets up shop in Leitrim.
Mauritian barrister and entrepreneur Joanne Frivet moved to Leitrim with her Irish husband in 2015. She described the unique culture and history of Mauritius, her interesting lineage of descendants of slaves, the influences of surrounding countries on their flavourful food,her bilingual and Catholic upbringing, and what inspired her to become a lawyer. The busy new mum now runs a consultancy company and will open a mindfulness massage therapy clinic in Carrick on Shannon. She advices migrants to be open and to explore, and to integrate in Ireland in order to learn and grow as a person.
