Medical technologist turned popular serenader Melvin Losaria describes his journey from the Philippines to Cavan.
Melvin Losaria narrated how he was formerly a professional medical technologist back in his hometown in Iloilo, Philippines, then worked as a laboratory technician in Saudi Arabia, and then moved to Cavan in 2006 to join his wife who is a nurse. He became a quality control staff at Quinn’s for 9 years and is now a health care assistant where a resident heard him sing Oh Danny Boy which won her heart. He has now sung in 29 nursing homes and is known as the Frank Sinatra of Cavan.
With two children working as nurses as well, Melvin invites other Filipinos to come to Ireland for its good educational system and health services, and encourages the Irish to visit the beautiful beaches in the Philippines. His Valentine message is to always love and care for others.
